The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) in conjuction with Barclays Bank (Zambia) Plc announced on Thursday that Nkoloma Stadium will host the Barclays Cup when the competition kicks off at the quarter final stage in September.
The development was announced by host and FAZ Club Licencing Manager Erick Mwanza when a draw for the 2015 competition was conducted at Pamodzi Hotel.
Mwanza said the quarter-finals would be hosted at Nkoloma Stadium whereas venues for the semi-finals and the final were yet to be announced.
A revised system for the draw was also introduced where the four teams which were placed in the top four of the Super League standings as at week 15 were automatically seeded.
Zesco United, Power Dynamos, Zanaco and Nkwazi were the teams seeded for the draw where as Mufulira Wanderers, Kabwe Warriors, Green Buffaloes and Lumwana Radiants had to be drawn from a bowl to determine their opponents.
The quarter-finals will be played as double-headers on 19th and 20th September.
Nkwazi will face Mufulira Wanderers in opening match on September 19 while two-time winners Power Dynamos will play Green Buffaloes in the second match.
Barclays Cup debutants FAZ Division One North League side Lumwana Radiants have been drawn against Zanaco in the quarter-finals of the 2015 Barclays Cup competition.
Lumwana and 2010 runners-up Zanaco will play in the the first match of the second doubleheader scheduled for Nkoloma Stadium on September 20.
The second match on the same date will feature four time winners and current defending champions Zesco United against FAZ Division One side Kabwe Warriors.
Ironically, Kabwe Warriors last match in the 2014 MTN FAZ Super League on November 22 was against Zesco United. They lost that match 3 - 1 and got demoted from the Super League.
SEMI FINAL DRAW
The 2015 Barclays Cup semi-finals will take place at a yet to be announced venue on October 17.
The winner of the match between Power Dynamos and Green Buffaloes will play the winner of the match between Zesco United and Kabwe Warriors.
The winner of the match between Nkwazi and Mufulira Wanderers will play the winner of the match between Zanaco and Lumwana Radiants.
The final will be played on November 14.
