We will not relax till the last day – Lwandamina

Head Coach George Lwandamina says the team will not relax until the last day of the season despite opening a nine point lead after beating Nchanga Rangers yesterday in Chingola.

Zesco opened the lead in the 19th minute through a Lazarous Kambole strike.

In the second half, Nchanga equalized through a penalty after David Odhiambo handed the ball in the box.

However after missing a number of chances, Winston Kalengo yet again came to the rescue of Zesco United and scored the winner in the 83rd minute.

Assistant coach Tenant Chembo was sent off after disputing the penalty that was given to Rangers.

However at the end of the day, Zesco collected the maximum points and opened a nine point lead and better than second placed Zanaco who are on 50 points and 11 better than third placed Power Dynamos who are on 48points.

However Lwandamina said the battle of the league is still on until the last day.

“We can’t say we are comfortable at the moment because we have five more games which are even more crucial than the ones we have conqured. This week we are traveling to Choma and we will be back to preparing for that game as soon as possible,” he said.

Lwandamina says he is happy with the continued spirit of hard work his boys have exhibited.
