Reference is made above.

Zesco United would like to announce that the player recruitment, retention and release have been successfully concluded.

The following players are set to leave the club;

Winston Kalengo – Signed a One year contract with AC Leopards of Congo Brazzaville Jonas Sakuwaha – Gone back to TP Mazembe after expiry of his one year loan contract Juma Ally Liuzio – To be loaned out ( Club to be communicated) Clifford Mulenga – Following his three month assessment, the technical bench has not been impressed with his performance Chishimba Changala – Recalled by Nkwazi following expiry of loan contract with Zesco United FC Innocent Mwaba – Permanent Move to Forest Rangers Christopher Chogozie – Contract will not be renewed The Club has since recruited the following in order to strengthen the squad that has been retained

Idris Ilunga Mbombo , Striker – Kabwe Warriors ( One year loan) Mwila Phiri JNR , Left Winger – Green Eagles ( One year Loan) Anthony Akumu Agay( Kenyan) ,Defensive Midfielder – Al Khartoum ,Sudan ( Two Year contract, outright purchase) Jesse Jackson Were (Kenyan), Striker- Tusker ( Two year contract, outright purchase) Ben Adama Banh (Ivorian),Centre Back – Former captain AC Kaloum,Guinea ,free agent ( Two year contract, outright purchase) *The contracts for the three foreign players will be effected upon passing of medical examinations.

The club has also promoted three players from the youth teams following the good performance at the clubs they were loaned to

Samson Banda – Goalkeeper Shemmy Mayembe – Right Back, was loaned to Forest Rangers this year Lupiya Kasashi – Right winger, was loaned to Forest Rangers this year Kondwani Mtonga has since returned to Zesco United after the expiry of his loan contract to North-East United of India.

Jackson Mwanza will not go to Thailand after UBON UMT United’s failure to secure his Visa and Work permit.

The following players are still with the team but have not been registered for CAF champion’s league because they are still recovering from injury.

Henry Nyambe Mulenga – Defender Humphrey Maseneko – Striker Bornwell Elijah Silengo – Defender Maseneko and Silengo have since started light training while Mulenga is waiting for a final assessment review from the doctor to determine when he can start training, we wish them well and we are looking forward to see their return.

Justin Zulu is still serving a ban from FIFA and his fate will only be known after the ban is lifted.

Zesco United FC believes that the above squad will be mange to defend the Zambia Super League championship and compete well in the 2016 edition of the CAF champion’s league as the core of the team has been retained.

It is the clubs hope that the young players promoted to the main team will be equal to the task and the experienced and new players will continue to work hard.

Zesco United has since started training and will be shifting camp to Mongu for two weeks from 10th to 23rd January, 2016 and will host a four team tournament which is subject to confirmation from the invited teams at the end of January.
