The time has come for Zambians to confirm their superiority over West Africans in terms of football. Zambian Premier League defending champions, Zesco United FC host Guinean champions Horoya FC at the Estadio de la Levy Mwanawasa in Ndola, Zambia, in the First Leg of the CAF African Champions League first round on March 12.
Zambia's 2015 runaway league champions Zesco United go into the match as clear favorites, holding an all-time unbeaten home record against non-Zambian teams. Zesco United should be inspired by some memorable home clashes against West African teams (like AS Kaloum of Guinea a year ago, and against Kano Pillars of Nigeria back in 2009).
With the attacking talent at the disposal of the Zambian Premier League champions, one would expect them to turn their West African opponents over on Saturday. They have the opportunity to do it, and an a home win plus an away goal or two will be vitally important.
