Team ya ziko boy ni Zescolo eyabako! A 2-1 win for Zesco United away to fellow title contenders, Power Dynamos in the electricity derby is nothing short of the perfect start we the fans dreamt of.
Zesco United who have two games in hand started the first half with the ball mostly in midfield as both Zesco and Power struggled to get a foot into the match. The first half ended scoreless and it was only in the second half that the game came into life in the 55th minute when Zesco's Congolese striker Idriss Mbombo reacting quicker to a set piece to put the ball past Joshua Titima and give Zesco United a 1-0 lead.
Zesco United followed it up in the 64th minute when Kenyan striker Jesse Were who was unmarked ghosted past a Power defence on a set piece to put the ball in the back of the net and give Zesco United a 2-0 lead.
Power did not look confident or composed at all in midfield and brought on Kennedy Mudenda and Kelvin Mubanga but the substitutions had minimal impact on the game. It was only in added time when Power pushed and Jacob Banda's spilled a cross which was headed home by Martin Phiri but with hardly anytime left the final whistle blew as Zesco United beat Power Dynamos at Arthur Davies for the second time in a row.
