Zesco United vs Lusaka Tigers (PREVIEW: Primera Division de Zambia)

Talk about Zesco United as runaway 2015 Primera Division de Zambia champions. A team whom just about everyone tipped to run away with the league title for a third consecutive season. Made a flying start to the 2016 campaign looking like they would be set to dominate for yet another year.

But playing like this? One really wonders. They suffered their first defeat of the league season against Ndola rivals Forest Rangers in midweek. They drew their previous two games 1-1. Zesco United continue their title defense of the Zambian Super League this weekend with a home game against newly promoted Lusaka Tigers on Sunday as Zesco look to get their season back on track.

Recent results for George Lwandamina's side have not been very good. The game against Lusaka Tigers will therefore provide Zesco United with the chance to stop the rot and increase their confidence ahead of the big upcoming tougher games which are still to come in the league season — although the Lusaka Tigers coach has already admitted his team want to "hurt" and "damage" the ambitions of Zesco United when the two teams meet on Sunday. Having held current league leaders, Nkana to a 1-1 draw already this season, Lusaka Tigers, will certainly not be easy opponents for the stuttering Zesco United team.
