Nkana may never learn after predictably being beaten 1-0 at home by Zesco United... as the defending

  • Nkana FC suffered a disappointing 1-0 home defeat by Copperbelt rivals Zesco United

  • Zesco United's Nigerien captain, Ben Adama Banh punished Nkana FC's slack defending of a set-piece with a net headed goal from a 33rd-minute corner.

  • Zesco United kept up their impressive all-time unbeaten record against Nkana FC.

Zesco United always raise their game for this clash of cultures, extending their unbeaten run in the Zambian Super League against Nkana FC.

This defeat raises fresh questions about the mentality of this Nkana team, their desire to win the club's first Zambian Super League title since 2013.

Boy does that era cast a shadow over this clan. This was another blood-curdling fixture, with Anthony Akumu, Misheck Chaila, David Owino, Clatous Chama, and Ben Adama Banh dishing it out when they needed to.

The little skill merchants in this Nkana team were unsettled, with Walter Bwalya, Jacob Keli and Christopher Munthali unable to settle before they were upended.

This fixture is not for the faint-hearted. What a day for Zesco United, the back-to-back Zambian Super League defending champions.

Nkana panicked when Zesco United took the lead in the 33rd minute.

Zesco took advantage, falling back on some of their old, defensive virtues to secure another impressive victory. It called on Zesco United's Nigerien captain Ben Adama Banh to guide this team across the finish line, squeezing the pips out of his players to make sure that the champions finished on top. That, as Nkana know, is real leadership.
