Zesco Utd host Asec Mimosas in the CAF African Champions League | Natty Martinez reports from Cali,

There is no doubting a home win is a must this afternoon for Zesco United. After a loss in Casablanca despite dominating the game, things are not exactly as they should be and with Al Ahly side taking on Wydad Casablanca in the next two games, now is the time for Zesco United to get back on track. Some people will think this is the easier game, but they are wrong. This is the Champions League and you have to fight for the right to win the game. The problem is, just who will take to the pitch to start the game later today and could we see a whole host of changes being made by George Lwandamina? Lwandamina hasn't thought twice about resting players up till now and I do not think tonight will be the same. I think we can safely assume that Anthony Akumu will be back in the side. I believe personally, that Jesse Were will start the game and possibly up front next to Ching'andu and Mwelwa.

I think Chama and Akumu will start next to Chaila with Adama Banh partnering Owino at centre half. Oluwafemi and Mayembe will start the game either side. If it was me, I would play our best side, but we have to believe Lwandamina when he says that he feels the talent in our squad is "immense". No disrespect to Asec Mimosas whatsoever, but with this side starting the game you would expect Zesco United to win no problem. If things go our way, I would like to see the likes of Mwanza come on in the second half, and Mtonga to give them more game time. I think because of how important the win would be, Were would start over Mwanza, but the veteran will hopefully be given some time. The simple fact remains, if we are to be considered as a contender for this competition, we should be beating the likes of Asec Mimosas home and away and if we do not win today, the first questions would be asked of George Lwandamina. However, saying that, I can see nothing but a Zesco United win tonight with as it has been recently, plenty of goals! Zesco United to win by three and Jesse Were to score a couple! Força Zesco United!!!!!
