Colombian striker, Leonardo Castro has played a season and a half for South African league champions Mamelodi Sundowns, scored some goals and now this is the right time for Zesco United to come calling, before his price tag skyrockets.
Zesco United signed Winston Kalengo from Zanaco FC in 2011 and have since Jesse Were and Idris Mbombo to their striking department. They also have the services of veterans Jackson Mwanza and Maybin Mwaba. Of late, Zesco United's strike-force has not been bad at all, but could be even better.
Winston Kalengo is expected to return to Zesco United next season. The unfortunate thing is that next season, he will be on the wrong end of 30 years old. As for Idris Mbombo, only time will tell as to whether or not he will have done enough by the end of the season to warrant a permanent move to the club.
As Zesco United aim to build on their fine 2016 CAF African Champions League run, the big Colombian striker Leonardo Castro is one player they should definitely have on their radar. It is not difficult to see why.
The big 25-year-old Colombian striker has been a key part of Pitso Mosimane's Mamelodi Sundowns FC frontline at the Estadio de la Lucas Moripe. And while he has been more than aware of his talents, it is high time teams like Zesco United finally woke up to them.
Leonardo Castro transmits a strength which has a contagious effect on the rest of the group. He gives everything. Giving everything, unrelenting, playing to the limit — they are all qualities George Lwandamina's teams have traditionally been built upon, yet Leonardo Castro brings a lot more to the table.
Playing alongside Zimbabwean striker Khama Billiat and South African striker Keegan Dolly, he has found the back of the net in the league 10 times in 23 appearences. That form saw Mamelodi Sundowns become champions of the South African league.

Zesco United may have a wealth of talent throughout their midfield, but other than Jesse Were and Idris Mbombo, they lack a truly world-class striker who will be able to play regular football at the club for much longer.
Jackson Mwanza will be 30 next season and is still to show he is capable of repeating the form that once won him the Zambian Super League golden boot. Maybin Mwaba, meanwhile, as a first choice striker, despite his endeavour, is not going to win Zesco United titles.
A man of Leonardo Castro’s ability just might and given what is available elsewhere, George Lwandamina will be wise to invite this big Colombian striker into his Zesco United FC squad.
