Zesco United face fight to hold onto top players amid interest from European & other African clu

The Christmas pre-season transfer window is just around the corner and following Zesco United's outstanding achievement of reaching the CAF African Champions League semi-final this past season, the club is set to experience a mass exodus of players, with David Owino, Clatous Chama, Misheck Chaila, and Jesse Were all looking poised to follow their outgoing coach George Lwandamina to the Tanzanian league champions Young Africans FC.

It is also believed that the club will struggle to hold onto the services of Simon Silwimba and Jackson Mwanza amid interest from European and South African clubs.

The success of Zesco United next season will depend on how well the buy at Christmas, and with all the funds expected to be made from the aforementioned transfers, the club should make sure they do everything they can to make the Colombian striker Leonardo Castro their first signing of the transfer window, and the beginning of a new era, likely with an expatriate coach.
