A 75th-minute Idriss Mbombo goal was enough to secure victory for Zesco United over Zanaco in the first Copa Barclays final at the National Heroes Stadium in Lusaka, Zambia.

Mbombo produced a moment of brilliance in a game that did live up to expectations to ensure that the 2016 CAF African Champions League semi-finalists did not end their season trophyless.

The fans inside the stadium were treated to a fantastic pre-match build-up featuring some Mampi and Drimz.

Aside from Mbombo's late winner, the two best sides in the country produced a game that is likely to live long in the memory.

Zesco United have now won an unprecedented 5th Copa Barclays title, their first trophy in the post-Lwandamina era. A cagey opening 20 minutes set the pace for a match that at times seemed more like the Charity Shield than the first Copa Barclays final at an immaculate new stadium.
